Baby Girl Middle Names Biography
We all have two middle names in our family. It started with my husband’s side and then I didn’t drop my maiden name so I ended up with two middle names.
When the kiddos came around, we wanted them to have two middle names too. Our daughter has 32 characters in her name (not counting her 6 character nickname). We were better with our son, he has 24 characters and no nickname.
Our daughter (4.5 years) loves knowing all of our names and often introduces everyone by their full name – much to the confusion of the random stranger she is talking to!
I just like us all having 4 initials.\

This comes purely from the work I do, but from a medical records standpoint, don’t give your kids more than one middle name. Also don’t make them a Jr or, worse yet, give them the same exact name as dad, grandpa or Uncle Bob especially if you all live in the same area. It can be a real nightmare to try and sort out which records belong to which person when they all have the same names or have 5 names. Save your kids the hassle as adults.
If it sounds good and it floes and that’s what you wanna do go for it. I only worry about names that are hard to spell or over half the class has the same name.

We gave our 22-month-old son 2 middle names because a) my wife never thought she’d even HAVE a child, and b) I never thought I’d ever have a son (I have two daughters and a step-daughter froma previous mrriage). So since my little dude is a sort of Golden Child, we figured we needed to get the names in there in case he was the only one!

I wouldn’t do it, I imagine it would be a hassle when filling out forms and such.
My son has 2 middle names for this reason: we adopted him at birth and always wanted to give him the middle name of “Kevin” for my brother in law who passed away at age 31 from leukemia and his birth mother wanted him to have the name “Joseph” due to a family connection. He is Daniel Kevin Joseph.
Two middle names here! Not me, but my children, both the one who died, and the surviving chibling. We had Ripley Honor picked out before I even got pregnant with Rhys (May 15-19 1997) and we had a tussle over the second middle name. I gave birth so I won. She is Ripley Honor Elora…Elora after her three great-grandmothers, Eleanor, Lois and Orpha. Rhys only had his first name when he died; my husband just let me pick his middle names, MacCaskill (after my great-grandmother who had just recently passed away, it was her maiden name) and Lachlan, because it was Scottish and I liked it.
My daughter has two middle names because we really couldn’t agree on one. One is from my favorite sweet cousin and one from his favorite grand mother who passed away a couple of months after we met. I’ve always wanted two middle names myself.

I had to click on this post, because I have two middle names and don’t hear about it that often. My middle names are in honor of both of my grandmothers. I thought it was a little much growing up (mainly because I didn’t know anyone else with two middle names), but now I am honored to carry on their names. I only use the first in forms and what not, so it’s never a big deal. Thanks for sharing!
My son has 2 middle names AND a hyphenated last name. Our reasoning was we knew we were only having one child so why save a name for another child we’d never have. The 2nd middle name is also a family name for both our families (just a different spelling) so it pleased everyone without an effort.
It hasn’t been too hard filing out forms, we have more issues with the last name than the 2 middle name
All three of my children have two middle names. Their names are a combination of a name from my family, one from my husband’s family, and one name that we just liked. It has not been a problem filling out forms or anything. It was pretty cool hearing my daughter’s first, two middle and last name at her high school
I wish we would have given our son 2 middle names. But at the time his gpa, my husbands father was still alive but less than 2 years after my son was born his gpa died. They were really close & sometimes I think about adding the second middle name in honor of his gpa. When it comes to naming my kids I really don’t care about making someones job easier because they might have to look a little harder through medical records.
I gave my son only one middle name, however, I have 2 middle names myself, as does my sister. I personally use both my middle names on paperwork and my signature includes both my middle initials. I love it and always felt it was a special thing my parents did for me because of the meaning behind both names.
