Are you pushing a Sophia or an Aiden around in a baby stroller? Congratulations, your kid has the hottest baby name of 2011.
BabyCenter released its list of the Top 100 Baby Names of 2011 today.
The online parenting and pregnancy destination compiled some 300,000 baby names and combined those that sound the same but have different spellings (such as Sophia and Sofia) to create a true measure of popularity.
Almost all of last year’s top-10 darlings are still favorites this year. Aiden still rules the roost as the top boy’s name for the seventh year in a row, and Sophia remains the queen after inching her way up to the top last year.
Sophia reigns as queen!
Emily, the only new name to crack the top-10 ceiling for girls this year, claimed the number-9 spot, kicking Addison out of the pack. Mason muscled his way into the top-10 boy’s club, pushing out Caden who tumbled down to number 12 .

What about the hottest naming trends? Anderson Cooper, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and the Kardashians all influenced baby-naming parents.
While TV viewers bashed reality star Kourtney Kardashian, they fell in love with her son Mason who stole the show as a ring bearer at Kim’s wedding. Kourtney lost serious ground, and Mason toddled up to the third place for boys.
Kate and William’s fairy tale spring wedding captured the attention of the entire world, and both their names rose multiple spots.
Parents aren’t finding inspiration in politicians themselves—instead, they’re looking to politicians’ kids. Sarah Palin’s daughters Bristol, Willow and Piper; Barack Obama’s daughter Malia; and Hillary Clinton’s daughter Chelsea all shot up the chart.
Steve Jobs has touched everyone including baby-naming parents. His full name—Steven—jumped 14 spots to 73.
CNN’s silver-haired fox Anderson Cooper now has a daytime talk show that’s moving up in the ratings—just as both his first and last name are on the baby names list.
